Meet Hollis

I like to joke that I wouldn’t have a job if it were not for my high school elective: working as an editor for the Tiger Tales newspaper. It was here that I learned the basics of graphic design and print layout. Life steered me in other, ultimately related fields (degrees in art history and historic preservation; a job working in communications in higher education), but to my surprise it has been my high school elective that has given me an appreciation for visuals, puzzles, color, and how art and creativity interplay with our daily life.

I believe design is what makes the mundane aspects of our life more beautiful and functional. If you like what you see, you will gravitate towards it. If everything looks nice, and is easy to use, you will probably come back to it.

It is exciting to consider someone’s aesthetics, needs and wants for a project, and translate those elements into something that is attractive, creative, functional, and representative of the client.

When I’m not geeking out over vintage logos or feeling nostalgic for 1990s Sanrio, I’m busy studying art and astrology, traveling, hanging out with my loved ones (cats included), watching Dune, and turning my backyard into a jungle paradise.
